Hey Chris!!
Sorry this has taken me so long. I am just busy, busy, busy with my hectic and demanding schedule. I will be glad to share any news with you for the Vanguard newsletter.
I contacted my Birthmother about four weeks after getting the facts from you and she could not have been any more kind or gracious in receiving my phone call or understanding my need to have some questions answered. We must have talked for two hours and have continued to talk about every three weeks since the initial contact. She surprised me on my birthday with a painting that she painted herself and is a very talented artist. We share a lot of common interests and especially enjoy our children. Like me, she has two boys who are very close in age to my own (big surprise), and we share similar philosophies on parenthood and religion. The other big surprise was that she had married my Father a year after putting me up for adoption, and they were married for ten years! We have not discussed many details about that period in her life but we have certainly enjoyed finding each other and getting to know each other as one adult to another. I respect the strength it took for her to make the unselfish decision to put me up for adoption, and she respects the strength it took for me to survive adoption.
I have no idea what the long-term outcome will be for our reunion and I don't plan to force the relationship at all. Everything has flowed beautifully since she and I have made contact and I am sure that she and I are more complete women because of our connection. I am forever grateful to Kinsolving for making this possible. Thank you for your determination and support for the past three and a half years --- your perseverance has changed my life forever.

I want to thank you for giving me the courage to see the things that will now haunt me, yet give some peace. I am forever changed by this experience, I am grateful to you for all your help, & for showing me who I am, and for showing me who I could have become if I made different choices in my life.
